Daycamp for school age children 5-9

Join us for a fun filled week of adventure and physical activity in the great outdoors.
Loosely structured, full of free play and lots of creative games, stories and songs.
There will be lots of encouragement for observation as well as identification of native plants & animals. Children will have the opportunity to learn skills such as knot tying, map reading (and making!) as well as shelter building.

All focused around a theme of stewardship for our nature park and our community!

Spring Weather in Kamloops is cool-mild generally 2C-10C.

Please be sure your child has cozy clothes to wear in case it is chilly.

We are not here to judge or label. We challenge biases constantly and support neuro and physical diversity. We have a really big toolkit we’d love to share. This is about supporting your child to be the best versions of themselves they possibly can.

I understand photos and videos will be taken of the children in Sprouting Knowledge programs for educational and promotional materials. Sprouting Knowledge will never explicitly identify children by name or age.

Drop Off & Pick Up Acknowledgement*

I understand the staff at Sprouting Knowledge assumes responsibility for the child once the caregiver make eye contact with a teacher and the child has been greeted. The responsibility of Sprouting Knowledge ends when the child has seen the adult responsible to pick up the child.

All children will be signed in upon arrival and will be signed out at the end of the day.

I will make eye contact, verbal contact and/or communicate with body language when dropping off AND picking up my child.

Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk*

Although we do everything we can to prevent injury, learning outdoors carries with it a certain level of risk. This is an outdoor program and nature is seldom predictable. At Sprouting Knowledge we encourage the children to take supported risks. In this way, they learn how to manage risk in a responsible manner.

I acknowledge and agree that I am aware that there are many known and unknown dangers and risks associated with participation in the outdoor activity program of Sprouting Knowledge including, but not limited to, the risk of minor injuries such as cuts, bruises, and scrapes, insect bites, insect stings. I am also aware that there is also the risk of serious injury or death.

I acknowledge and agree that I understand the dangers and risks associated with the outdoor activity program of Sprouting Knowledge and, notwithstanding such dangers and risks, I give my consent for the Child to participate in the outdoor activity program of Sprouting Knowledge.

Medical Consent
I give my consent that my child may be given first aid/emergency treatment by the qualified staff at Sprouting Knowledge operated by Krystal Jeffrey.

I release, waive, and fully discharge Krystal Jeffrey doing business as “Sprouting Knowledge,” her Employees, Contractors, Agents and successors in business (the “Releasees”) from any and all claims, demands, obligations and liabilities of any kind or nature whatsoever arising from or connected, directly or indirectly, with the Child’s participation in the outdoor activity program of Sprouting Knowledge due to any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract, and breach of any statutory duty of other duty, and I accept that this release covers and includes, but is not limited to, all unknown and unforeseen claims, injuries, damages and losses, and any consequences thereof.

I will indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any damage, loss, liability, legal costs and other expenses that any of them may suffer or incur by reason of any claims against any of them arising from or connected, directly or indirectly, with the Child’s participation in the outdoor activity program of Sprouting Knowledge, including any claim based on negligence, breach of contract, and breach of statutory duty or other duty.

Basically, playing outdoors is inherently dangerous.

We will do our best to keep your child safe because we are deeply caring humans who have been trained in risk assessment.

Children are dynamic.

Please don’t sue me.

IN CONSIDERATION OF MY CHILD BEING ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPROUTING KNOWLEDGE PROGRAM, I agree to the above assumption of risk and waiver of claims.
